East Africa - Day 21

East Africa Day 21

Uganda 8 August 2015

I have not been able to upload photographs to my, blog without wifi or decent band width but will add photographs to my blog post as soon as I can.

We are having the most brilliant time in Uganda with ever great. Our trip was organised by our local ground agents Avian Watch Uganda.  Everything is   going really well with Robert, our fantastic guide (who knows all the sites and calls and can whistle birds in) and Paul, our driver and fixer, for who nothing was too much.

Last night we had spent another night in Buhoma, on the northern side of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Robert again went home for the evening and night.

The area is within the Albertine (Western) Rift Valley, with all its endemic species that you only find here.

We met Robert early, with the trainee guide that had met us the afternoon before, to walk the waterfall trail.  It was a full days walk but we were back at 4.30 pm as we head seen all the target species.  We had two armed Forest guards with us because of the risk forest elephants and the attack on tourists in 1999, when 8 were killed.

Best birds of the day were - to be added

Trip list – 585 birds for Uganda and 276 lifers for me
