I have not been able to upload
photographs to my blog without wifi or decent band width but will add my
photographs to my blog post as soon as I can.
We are having the most
brilliant time in Uganda with everything being great. Our trip was organised by
our local ground agents Avian Watch Uganda.
Everything is going really well with Robert, our fantastic guide (who
knows all the sites and calls and can whistle birds in) and Paul, our driver
and fixer, for who nothing was too much.
From Kidepo National Park we
drove north to the border with South Sudan.
There was a military base for security but we drove past this along the
path, 3 miles into South Sudan. We spent
half an hour in South Sudan, taking photographs even getting a lifer, Slate-coloured
Boubou.
Then Paul and the ranger
started to get a little less relaxed, saying that we had to go now. It was very exciting, as unless things change
a lot in my lifetime, I doubt I’ll be coming back to South Sudan.
South Sudan List:
Red-cheeked Cordon Bleu
Slate Coloured Boubou
Red-Pate Cisticola
Rattling Cisticola
African Paradise flycatcher
Speckled-fronted Weaver
Trip List – 6 birds for South
Sudan and one lifer
